Chive and Ground Pork

Chive and Ground PorkToday I am going to share the recipe of another quick and easy yet super delicious stir fry dish, “Chive and Ground Pork”.

I had lunch with my friend in a popular Chinese restaurant called “The Bao” in East Village, New York City the other day. We noticed a lot of people ordered this dish and it is one of the most popular dish on their lunch special menu aside from “Ma Po Tofu” and the soup dumplings. We ended up also ordered this dish and enjoyed it very much.

But since I know how to make this dish at home that tastes just as good as in the restaurant but much cheaper, I decide to share its recipe on Spice the Plate. So people could enjoy this dish without having to go to the restaurant. Here is how I made this dish.

Stir fry Ground PorkFirst, I heated some oil in a pan and stir-fried the ground pork for only 1-2 minutes until it changed color and removed the pork from the pan and set aside for later use. (This way the pork will still be tender when the dish is done.)

Stir fry Chive and Ground PorkThen I stir fried the Chinese chive (easy to find in a Chinese grocery store) for a couple of minutes until it has been cooked through. The last step is to add the pork back in the pan, and toss in the other ingredients as well as the seasoning and continue to stir fry for a little bit.
